plastic
I transition from one project to another hopefully growing, refining how I work. It’s a living process influenced by the people and things that move me and the choices I make in response to those exposures. How to manage the extensive acquisition of things and the disposal of plastic is troubling, so I have attempted to minimize my personal waste stream through “fine recycling.” I find the geometry and colors of plastic intriguing and in spite of its low material status it informs my constructions adding resonance to my visual narrative of conspicuous consumption. I also use plastic packaging as armatures for papier maché sculptures.
